Started in 2008, Playfire is fast becoming the default social network for gamers, with a number of advanced features such as automated tracking of your gameplay across multiple networks.
I was fully responsible for the front-end of the website, and as the site has grew I used a number of techniques to decrease page load times and ensure a consistent cross-browser experience for users.
Playfire has a large active community (over 400,000 members) with a busy forum, which allowed us to see how users reacted to changes and improvements that we made. I acted as community manager, which was a great learning experience with regards to managing moderators, taking feedback from and discussing issues with members, and many other related responsibilities.
