Portfolio
I have worked on many sites in my years as a web developer, but I feel that these represent some of my best work. Click on a project's name for more information.

Playfire
Playfire is a social networking startup aimed at gamers. I currently work for Playfire full time as a front-end developer.
We have a large active community (currently over 120,000 members) with a busy forum, and it is a great learning experience to see how users react to changes and improvements that we make. It also forces us to think about issues such as scalability and reusability of components, which become increasingly important on sites of this size.

Sky Homes
Sky Homes was one of Rockpool's biggest clients during my time spent at the company, and I was involved in the production of their websites and web applications from day one. Sky Homes deals with the installation of Sky dishes in blocks of flats. As a team we implemented an entire Intranet and Extranet system, as well as the Shared Dish system, which allows Sky installers to manage the installation process online.
I took care of everything regarding the front-end – HTML, CSS, JavaScript and template creation – and also contributed to back-end development.

Simplifydigital
Simplifydigital are the UK's only Ofcom-accredited price comparison website that searches digital TV, broadband and home phone packages to find the best deal. We created an entire 'online consultation', where you input your requirements and are presented with a list of suppliers that match your specification, ordered by cost. Users are also able to complete a checkout process that allows them to purchase packages online. The rich user experience specified by the client required me to use JavaScript creatively, and gave me a chance to push my skills in this area, as well as many others.

Sky+ HD Designer Collection
[site no longer active]
When Sky+ HD launched a range of designer boxes, I helped create a microsite to promote this aspect of their business. It was very much a brand-led piece of work, focusing on the user experience more than anything else. The main site was built entirely in Flash; my involvement was in helping to create an HTML version which is accessible to all users and conforms to W3C standards, while still providing the same user experience as the Flash version.

Freesat from Sky
Freesat is Sky's alternative to Freeview. We created a consumer-facing site explaining the benefits of Sky's offering, and based it upon a modified version of Rockpool's proprietary CMS which gave the client a great amount of control over the content.

Porter Dodson
Porter Dodson are an established solicitors with five offices. Our solution was to provide them with a content-managed site that makes it as easy as possible for the client to update the content on a regular basis. I was responsible for the front-end build and ensuring that my templates integrated effectively with the CMS system.

CCT Online
CCT provide telecommunications services, with a focus on call centre technologies. They needed a professional, attractive site that reflected their brand and provides a rundown of the services that they offer. I was responsible for the front-end build and integrating the templates with Rockpool's proprietary CMS.
